There’s no denying that the world of work is shifting… We’ve got
distributed workplaces, global collaboration, an emphasis on
self-directed training, greater emphasis on work-life balance, a
faster pace of work than ever before and roles in demand now that
didn’t even exist before the year 2000! This year, Professionelle
are uncovering the key things you need to know to not only survive but
thrive in the modern world of work. Whether you’re self-employed, an
employer, a manager or just starting out in the world of work, this
event series will have plenty of gems to help you progress your career
– wherever you’re going. We’ve all heard the stereotypes about
Millennials – those born between 1980 and 2003. We’re told that
they’re lazy, entitled, poorly prepared, obsessed with technology
and hanging out for constant praise. But we also know many of them are
keen to lead, desire flexibility, seek work-life balance, are
committed to life-long learning, and are all about working smarter,
not harder. Either way, they’re here and they’re creating waves in
the workforce – many of which are positive! So, can we understand
more about how Millennials think? What sort of contributions do they
make in the workplace? Where, and for what, should you hire them? And
how do you best manage them to get the best out of them? In this
lively and interactive panel event, we’ll take a look at all of the
above – all without putting this bright, young generation in a box
(although we have no doubt they’ll be a few spirited debates!)
Whether you are a millennial, or work with them, make sure you don’t
miss this event. There will be a mix of generations, with differing
views and moderated by the experienced and talented Hannah
Ockelford......watch this space: The panel event timing is
5.45pm-7.15pm, with a great opportunity for networking (with drinks
and nibbles) for 45 mins pre and post the panel.
