Manaaki whenua, manaaki tangata, haere whakamua - Care for the land, care for the people, go forward. **************************** The news seems full of climate change at the moment. But, how does this affect us, our whānau/families, friends or business, here in Puketāpapa Mount Roskill? What is happening to our climate, anyway? And, what can we do about it? To find out, join us for an afternoon of community, questions and inspiration as we explore what climate change means in our neighbourhood. Join us for both parts, or just come along to one (Roskill Climate Ride and/or Roskill Climate Restart). We will be hearing from Climate Change Minister James Shaw, people from Pacific island nations under imminent threat, climate-savvy speakers, a range of community leaders, and a guest performance. There will be time to listen, to ask questions, and to share ideas. -- PLUS – You're invited to also join our guided whānau-friendly Roskill Climate Ride beforehand. We'll ride along the Te Auaunga Walkway led by local biking heroes, Roskill Bike Kitchen and Global Hope Mission FREE event for all ages. RSVP via Eventbrite link, or just show up. ++ ROSKILL CLIMATE RIDE ++ 12:30- 2:00 pm ++ Te Auaunga Walkway ++ What: Come along for a ride and some kai beside this beautiful newly restored creek! Join us at any stage of the ride. - Start point: The Bike Kitchen, Roskill Youth Zone, - Stopping at some 'sights' along the way out to Valonia Reserve. - Stopping at the Fale for light refreshments as we hear a bit about the walkway's creation. - Cycle back to Roskill Youth Zone where we'll finish for a delicious lunch provided by the Wise Collective.
