Auckland Live presents Music in the Square. It wouldn’t be Auckland Live Summer in the Square without a sensational music line-up, and this summer is no exception. Music-man extraordinaire, Matthew Crawley has gone and blown us all out of the water with an eclectic range of musical acts to enjoy in Aotea Square. If you’re a music nerd or you simply love a cool beverage in the sun while the sweet sounds of live music sizzle in the background, come on down to the Square and make the most of this free music programme. Thursday, 23rd January Thu 5 Dec, 5pm – 7pm 5pm – 6pm Sounds of Summer Live Music – Oksun Ox Ben Holmes (The Hoolie Buzzes / Drorgan / Spacesuit) is the one-man-band act known as Oksun Ox. Expect live finger beats, foot thumping, twanging, moaning, hard out riffs, dodgy singing, casio boogaloo, sound fx to the maximus + more. He stamps his foot & bellows a passionate croon. He plays keyboard notes with a plastic finger attached to the end of a tiny guitar which he is also playing. He frowns cos it gets funky. It is odd, precious & unique music. Like a cross between Prince & Pumice.
