We're kicking the year (and decade) off with quite an exciting
tasting. We are going to get into a Cask Aged Gin tasting. Over the
last couple of years there have been a few cask aged gins that are
hitting the market from a range of smaller distilleries that are
pushing the boundaries. We shall be looking at a few different wood
finishes from Sherry casks to Whisky casks and asking 'why would you
do that?' Perhaps the most interesting part of the tasting is that we
shall compare what the gins taste like before and after being aged in
the chosen cask. This way we shall really be able to taste the
differences and what the cask ageing process brings to the table. All
of the cask aged examples that we shall be tasting through are highly
limited with very short runs - which will also make it quite an
exciting tasting.
