As the pool of available frequencies diminishes, frequency selection
and coordination are increasingly critical to the successful design
and deployment of WIRELESS MICROPHONE AND IN-ear systems. The Shure
Advanced Wireless course covers the successful setup, deployment and
operation of multi-channel wireless systems. Tailored for real-world
application encountered in today’s productions.
The course is a localised New Zealand version, based on Shure endorsed
training material modified to reflect local regulations and
restrictions.
TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:
• Radio fundamentals and frequency allocation
• Propagation, antenna placement, multi-path interference &
diversity reception
• Modulation (analogue & digital), audio processing, in-ear systems
• Multi-system compatibility, intermodulation, interference, cables
& distribution systems
• Squelch, batteries
• Wireless management tools
The course uses Shure Wireless Workbench version 6 (WWB6) for
configuration, control and monitoring of wireless audio devices.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE:
Recommended for any audio professional involved in the design and / or
operation of wireless audio systems.
Attendees should have previous experience with wireless audio systems
and be familiar with technical terms and concepts.
PRESENTER:
From staging technician to integrator, sales to technical support and
training, Richard has more than 24 years’ experience in most areas
of the professional audio industry.
An accomplished musician playing keyboards and electronic organ,
Richard was first exposed to the audio field when a friend asked him
to operate a show for a local theatre society.
A passion was ignited, and Richard moved to Auckland where he studied,
and completed a Diploma of Audio Engineering at SAE.
His years of experience as a hire technician and installer, are an
asset when it comes to specifying and designing a system, as he is
able to appreciate the challenges in working in venues of all sizes.
As a result, Richard can often suggest an alternative solution, or way
of installing a product that makes life a little easier, but still
meets a client’s expectations.
While working for another distributer, Richard hosted training
seminars throughout NZ specialising in DSP programming and hearing
assist systems. He is also experienced in the setup and operation of
multi-channel wireless microphone systems
In his spare time, Richard still holds a passion for musical theatre,
now having been involved with around 100 productions Auckland-wide,
and winning several awards for best sound design.
He also has a home studio and regularly records or mixes for those
wanting to put together an album, or just give Mum and Dad a Christmas
present.
