Puuraakau at the Paa : TAANE AND WHIRO A TE ORA O MANUKAU EVENT
With the Local Body Elections on, we are reminded of our own political
knowing played out between our Atua, our paepae, our marae, within in
our own whanau, hapu, iwi, as a people and as a nation.
RIKKI SOLOMON shares the puuraakau of Tane and Whiro and their
campaigns to acquire the 3 kete of knowledge. The purpose, the
strategies, the tactics, the challenges, the tools, the agendas known
and unknown, the Atua involved, the parts they played, the practices
and what ultimately secured the win!
It’s all politics, e hika maa! Being political is part of our DNA.
It is our responsibility to use the tools of our era to influence the
future of our mokopuna, our taiao and our narratives to ensure we have
CHAMPIONS in the battlefields of local boards and local government.
We will be providing a small takeaway kai again and have information
about the local body elections.
