Foundations of Flow - begins Jan 7th, 2020. Try something different
for the new year, 2020! Join Laura McKenzie for a five-week yoga
basics series; every Tuesday at 7.30-8.30pm - starting Tuesday, 7th
January 2020. Whether you have never tried yoga and want to give it a
go, or if you practice regularly and are wanting to go back to the
fundamentals, this series is for you. Laura has completed a lot of
'Embodied Flow' training, with Adele Kingham of Rise Movement. She is
looking forward to sharing her insights to 'Embodied Flow' throughout
the five-week series. Each week, Laura will start the session with an
Embodied Flow principle, then talk further about the fundamental yoga
guidelines, being the 'Yamas', whilst moving through a gentle flow:
Week 1 - Root to Rise - Yama: Ahimsa/Nonviolence We'll start to build
our connection to the breath, and learn to find stability and balance
through a grounding flow. Week 2 - Strong & Stable - Yama:
Satya/Truthfulness By bringing awareness to the spine and the central
channel of the body, we'll start to build strength and ease in our
movements. Week 3 - Energy Flow - Yama: Asteya/Non-Stealing It's not
about what it looks like, but what it feels like. Learn how to pair
bandhas, or body locks, with flowing breath for energy and engagement
in your practice. Week 4 - Subtle Body - Yama: Brahmacharya/Non-Excess
We'll start to slow down our movements, finding a greater sense of
internal awareness to bring more mindfulness to the practice. Week 5 -
Integration - Yama: Aparigraha/Non-Possessiveness Bringing it all
together, we'll flow and find intention for our practice that we can
use on and off the mat. Cost - $100 for all five classes Free for
