This is a two hour class which focuses on working with people with
body IMAGE ISSUES. The class runs for four weeks. I encourage you to
come to all four sessions, but come to what you can.Society often
expects us to measure up to an impossible and unhealthy ideal or to
force us into a mould that is not us. This can be damaging to our well
being. Some people suffer bullying, and serious mental and physical
health effects as a result. The most common group may be people who
perceive that they are overweight, but it also affects all kinds of
people, including people recovering from illlnesss, people with eating
disorders, transgender people, and anyone who has difficulty with self
acceptance.
Although this extended class is yoga based, our hope is that a
supportive community will form to support and encourage each other.
Yoga encourages mental and physical resilience, the integration of
mind and body, connection, self acceptance, and healthy self love.
From the classes you will also learn positive meditation and
relaxation techniques in a safe and supportive environment.
Our dedicated yoga studio is almost surrounded by beautiful acres of
wetlands, nature reserves and water. Sit quietly close to nature,
breathe deeply during your yoga practice surrounded by magnificent
trees, and enjoy the journey.
The level of yoga will be from complete beginners to intermediate
level. We welcome any size, any shape, any gender, any age (over 18 -
under 18 with participating parent). But please let us know if you
have any limitations at the time of booking.
Please bring: a raincoat, comfortable clothes, yoga mat, a water
bottle, and a blanket or towel.
