Big Bang: The First Three Minutes

An awful lot happened in the beginning moments of the history of the Universe. FIRST, there was nothing and then... there was everything. It did take a little while, though; cosmologists say about THREE MINUTES. Have you ever wondered how things came to be the way they are? The lumpiness of matter or the emptiness of space? Planets, stars, galaxies, clusters of galaxies; all of it started very small. How did it get to be called the BIG Bang? If a cosmos falls in a void, does it make a sound? So, what's up with this idea of a BANG, anyway? What went bang? When did it bang? Did it actually bang? Was there anything before the Big Bang and where was that? We'll answer these questions and perhaps some others as we explore the where, when, what, how and why of the beginning of the cosmos.ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Dave Bosse is an instructor of astronomy at the University of Cincinnati where he has taught for over 35 years.
