Join us in the Rocky Mountains for the 2017 CONFERENCE ON ACCELERATION
IN DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION . The Community College of Baltimore County
and the Accelerated Learning Program along with the Community College
of Denver are hosts for CADE 2017! This year's CONFERENCE WILL BE
HELD AT THE HYATT REGENCY DENVER AT THE COLORADO CONVENTION CENTER ON
JUNE 14-16, 2017. As in previous years, the CONFERENCE WILL INCLUDE
SESSIONS ON DEVELOPMENTAL ENGLISH, math, TESOL, and integrated
reading/writing. Plenary speakers for CADE 2017 will be Dr. Luke
Wood of CORA Learning on Thursday, June 15 and Professor of
Mathematics Myra Snell, Los Medanos College on Friday, June 16!
What is acceleration? All across the country, colleges are delivering
developmental education in exciting new ways. Peter Adams, at the
Community College of Baltimore County, pioneered the Accelerated
Learning Program, which allows students to take a credit class
concurrently with a developmental writing class. We have seen student
success--measured as passing the credit bearing class--more than
double. Others are experimenting with streamlining sequences and
giving students the skills they need in a college-level environment.
This conference gives faculty and administrators a chance to hear
about these approaches and to discuss ways to make these approaches
more successful. We invite you to attend the conference which was
described by one participant as "the most enjoyable and useful
conference I have attended."

June 14, 2017 - Workshops ($75.00 each) Various workshops 9:00-12
and 1:00-4:00 p.m.
June 15-16, 2017 - Two Day CONFERENCE ($400.00) Thursday, 9:00-4:30
and Friday, 9:00-1:00 p.m.

REGISTRATION/PAYMENT INFORMATION:
Registration in Eventbrite will end on June 2, 2017. All
registrations and credit card payments must be made by this date in
Eventbrite. There is no on-site registration, only a Check-In
Station. Workshops are on Wednesday ONLY and you MUST register for
these in Eventbrite! Workshops fill up fast and the cost is in
addition to the two day CONFERENCE. Lunch will be served on
Wednesday and Thursday only. Breakfast will be available each
morning. There will be no lunch on Friday, June 16, 2017!
If paying by check, registration must be completed by June 2, 2017 in
Eventbrite followed by a check payment to CCBC/ALP (see address
below.) To pay by check on Eventbrite, choose the Other Payment
Options, (PAY OFFLINE) and make sure your check payment is sent
promptly. Checks must be received by June 9, 2017!
