teaching. *** Please join the Tennessee State Library and Archives
(TSLA) and Teaching with Primary Sources – MTSU (TPS-MTSU) for a
summer institute for educators on the Reconstruction era on July 12th
and 13th, 2017, at the Tennessee State Library and Archives in
Nashville. This special two-day event will focus on content from the
Tennessee social studies curriculum standards in grades 5, 8, and high
school U.S.History. Participants will analyze primary source material
from the Library of Congress and the Tennessee State Library and
Archives as well as become familiar with the educational tools
available from TSLA and TPS-MTSU.
Participants will receive: twelve professional development credit
hours, $50 payment for mileage and parking, and lunch each day.
Participants will be required to attend both days in their entirety.
The schedule for each day is 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited to
twenty-five and registration will be on a first come, first serve
basis. Classroom teachers in grades K-12 are eligible for
participation.
