WALK THE TALK IS A PUBLIC EVENT SERIES HOSTED BY THE MANITOBA COUNCIL
FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION that offers an opportunity for the
general public in Manitoba to engage in and discuss topics related to
international development and the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs). This is a discussion SERIES WHERE PARTICIPANTS ENGAGE IN
CONVERSATION WITH OTHER GLOBAL CITIZENS WHILE EXPERIENCING NATURE. WHO
SHOULD GO: Manitobans! Any Global Citizen really. You dont need to be
an expert - we just expect respectful conversation. This event is
wheelchair accessible. Service animals.
WHO SHOULD STAY HOME: Anyone feeling unwell. Your four-legged fur
babies; no pets please.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING: Your own re-usable water bottle filled with
water. Your thoughts. Comfortable footwear. Masks are mandatory. We
will be observing any current Manitoba Public Health recommendations.
HOW DOES IT WORK: When you register youll be asked to select your top
three discussion topics. When you arrive at the event, youll be paired
with a walking partner. Well do our best to pair you with someone who
is interested in the same top topic.
WHY YOU SHOULD SIGN UP: We all have something to share and all have
something to learn. Sharing thoughts and perspectives, aka
brainstorming, often results in divergent thinking the creation of new
ideas. This series is an opportunity for people who are interested in
global issues to develop connections with like-minded individuals and
to share ideas and resources that work toward a just world.
RESPECTFUL CONVERSATION MEANS: Ideas are discussed freely, and all
people are respected.
TOPICS FOR CONVERSATION:

childrens issues, especially girls issues, locally and in the Global
South?
