The movement or community of AfrikaBurn meets annually for a truly life changing week in Tankwa, just a few hours drive from Cape Town. There are no prerequisites to join the movement as any stranger who is ready for receiving and giving gifts instead of buying, who puts survival before service, and who is open to all the differences the world may entail, can become a part of the community. The week focuses on all kinds of expressive arts, including startling costumes and burning structures. So read the survival guide and remember one of AfrikaBurn mottos: "This ain’t no party. This ain’t no disco. This ain’t no foolin’ around. This is AfrikaBurn!"
