This introduction to drawing

This course is open to people sixteen years and older. Class time will be divided between demonstration/instruction, work on specific assignments and open studio time for work on personal projects. Media demonstrations will include pencil, permanent ink pens, pencil crayons, watercolour crayons, chalk pastels, oil pastels, and working with mixed media materials. There will also be a discussion about various types of papers and drawing surfaces.

Our instructor, Steve Burger has a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Lethbridge. He also completed a Masters in Art Education from the University of Victoria. In his teaching career, he worked with students in all grades. Most of his time was spent teaching art, photography, video production, commercial art and fine art to high school students. He also taught video courses at the Grande Prairie Regional College. As an artist, he has shown work in many media in over eighty exhibitions including solo, group, and traveling shows. His work is represented in numerous public collections including Alberta Foundation for the Arts, University of Lethbridge, Pan Canadian Oil and Alberta Blue Cross.
