Course A - Trustee Roles and Governance in BME led organisations.

Locally provided 6 Zoom online short course units covering a basic introduction to key areas of the management of Voluntary groups and charities covering aspects of Trustee responsibilities and effective charity management .

These sessions are open to anyone from a BME community who is a trustee or committee member of a voluntary group or charity , is interested in becoming one or anyone who is a trustee or committee member of a BME organisation.

Sessions will be delivered by a variety of trainers from SVS and other Councils of Voluntary Service colleagues. Each course will cover the following modules although the order may vary for each course.

  • Roles and responsibilities of charity trustees and committee members
  • Basic financial management for trustees
  • Data Protection and Digital awareness for trustees
  • Basic safeguarding awareness
  • Staff or Volunteer management
  • Problem solving / addressing your key issues

The 3 courses A/B/C will run by Zoom. You will be invited to join a Zoom meeting for the following dates :

Course A- Mondays 12.00 noon - 14.00 on :

  • Mon 1st Feb - Trustee Roles and Responsibilities
  • 8th Feb Basic Financial Management (not 15th -half term)
  • 22nd Feb - Basic safeguarding awareness
  • 1st March - Data and Digital for Trustees
  • 8th March - Involving volunteers / or staff management
  • 15th March - Problem solving Q&A session

*The dates will remain but the course content may change subject to confirmation of some trainers *
