What is the Panagbenga Festival? The Panagbenga Flower Festival is
the annual flower festival held at the Summer Capital of the
Philippines, Baguio City. Panagbenga is a word in Kankanaey, or the
language spoken by a group of indigenous people in the Northern part
of the Philippines, which means season of blooming. Flowers and
colors come alive in the streets of Baguio with its numerous parades
throughout the festival. Majestic floats made from a wide variety of
flowers and ornamental plants and following diverse themes take center
stage in this festival. Need to KnowThe Panagbenga is a month-long
festival held every February and filled with numerous events all
throughout. From grand parades to a fireworks show, as well as
different competitions like the grandest float, landscaping contest,
and even a street dance battle and a pageant! The Grand Parade can

was said to be a way for the community to rise up and highlight their
