A FIRESIDE CHAT WITH DEPUTY HUD SECRETARY PAM PATENAUDE Un año después del huracán María, los esfuerzos de recuperación en Puerto Rico continúan. Demasiados puertorriqueños siguen sufriendo las consecuencias del huracán sin los techos adecuados sobre sus hogares. Y la necesidad de desarrollos de infraestructura se avecina en el fondo. La clara prueba de título sigue siendo una barrera enorme para obtener acceso a la asistencia de FEMA y las personas continúan luchando para pagar su hipoteca. Recientemente, el Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de los Estados Unidos emitió un acuerdo de subvención de $ 1,5 mil millones para ayudar a los ciudadanos de Puerto Rico. Esta subvención se utilizará para restaurar viviendas dañadas y destruidas, negocios e infraestructura. Too many Puerto Ricans are still suffering through the Hurricane aftermath without proper roofs over their homes. And, and the need for infrastructure developments looms in the background. Clear proof of title remains an enormous barrier to gaining access to FEMA assistance and people continue to struggle to pay back their mortgage. Recently, the United State Department of Housing and Urban Development issued a grant agreement of $1.5 billion dollars towards helping the citizens in Puerto Rico. This grant will be used to restore damaged and destroyed homes, businesses and infrastructure.
