9th Annual YMCA Strides For Kids 5K Dash - Montgomery, AL 2022

YMCA STRIDES FOR KIDS 5K DASH-LIVE RACE ABOUT THE RACE: Come Join us for the 9th ANNUAL YMCA STRIDES FOR KIDS 5K DASH YOU CAN RUN THE COURSE, Live the Cause and help us make an even a bigger impact in our community. Proceeds from the race help us make a difference in underserved areas of the River Region. All Participants will receive a race shirt. Walk-in/Late registrations are welcome (but not guaranteed a shirt). There will also be a 1 Mile Fun Run. Proceeds benefit the ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN. During the pandemic, our YMCA began to operate in overdrive helping our community when they needed it most. We provided essential childcare to those working on the front lines who were working around the clock to keep our community safe and found themselves in desperate need of childcare for their children. We also serve nearly 500,000 meals per year to children who wouldnt otherwise know where their next meal may come from. During the pandemic, our Brown Bag Bus (the YMCAs mobile feeding unit) served 1,000 children daily who were out of school and lost their lifeline to their scheduled lunches each day. Our goal for this year is that no one is denied an opportunity to participate in YMCA programs, because of the inability to pay, feed more kids and expand our outreach soccer mentoring programs in underserved areas of our community.
