Description Stumpy Faulkner made wreaths out of local greens & gave
them away the day after Thanksgiving in Girdwood. Let's make a wreath
together and learn the tradition of homemade giving!
This year this event will be a fundraiser to help Girdwood Chapel with
costs for new doors. The $20 registration fee is per wreath. Multiple
family members may work on a wreath together.
What to bring?- TWO ARMLOADS OF LOCALLY CUT BOUGHS , spruce or
hemlock, about 22 of them for one WREATH. Best size seems to be from
your elbow to fingertips (about 12" to 14" long). Cut them at least
the day before so they can dry out. Some people use a saucer sled or
other snow sled to collect and carry them, about 25-30 boughs,
CLIPPERS, GLOVES .
We will provide wire, wreath ring, and bow!
This workshop will be taught by Sarah Mattingley & Patty Hamre.
Class is for all ages 6 and above, but children need to have adult
