The Gift of the Magi (Winter Play @ Basis Phoenix South)

About the Play: "The Gift of the Magi" is a short story by O. Henry first published in 1905. The story tells of a young husband and wife and how they deal with the challenge of buying secret Christmas gifts for each other with very little money. As a sentimental story with a moral lesson about gift-giving, it has been popular for adaptation, especially for presentation at Christmas time. The plot and its twist ending are well known; the ending is generally considered an example of cosmic irony. The story is set in New York City during the 1940's. 

Directors Vision and Background: Mr. Brion is excited to bring his passion for the performing arts to Basis Phoenix South. With over 15 years of theatrical experience himself, leading him to share his passion in the school setting has enabled Mr. B to establish a community of respectable artstic ethics for the youth. With coaching students on professional film sets to directing youth shows under his belt, Mr. Brion brings forth the expertise needed to enlighten a new passion for students! His vision for this play was to enable
