Enigma Variations & Ellis Island: The Dream of America Throughout
history, composers have told the stories of people — their lives and
dreams, their journeys. Edward Elgar brilliantly depicted his friends
in the Enigma Variations, which has at its heart the stirring
movement, “Nimrod”. Peter Boyer’s Ellis Island: The Dream of
America tells the dramatic stories of immigrants through first-person
portrayals by actors, a gripping musical score and powerful imagery.
This work will feature actors from Phoenix Theatre Company.
