Rest, Renew, Pray
Join us in SCOTTSDALE, Arizona for three days of rest and prayer at
the Franciscan Renewal Center. [https://thecasa.org/] This is the
perfect event for a pastor or staff retreat for your leaders. Be
renewed in relationship with others as we explore the practice of
meditation and our beliefs around prayer as progressive faith leaders.
This event begins Tuesday morning with breakfast and a light
conversation. Tuesday/Wednesday is yours to hike trails, meditate in
the gardens, relax by the pool or explore the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.
W/ will curate some options for engaging in prayer practices and
individual/group meditation or conversation throughout. We will also
have meeting spaces available for small groups who want to gather for
meetings or discussions. Our time will conclude Thursday morning with
worship and prayer together.
Your group is welcome to arrive as early as Monday evening and leave
as late as Thursday morning. Your rate will vary based on your length
of stay. Most meals are included with your lodging. Choose from a
double or single room. (Limited availability for singles.)
Book early as availability at the Center is limited and March is a
peak season.
See below for answers to additional questions.
FAQS
HOW CAN I CONTACT THE ORGANIZER WITH ANY QUESTIONS?
Email questions about bookings to Events Team Coordinator Jennifer
Fisher at jennifer.fisher@withcollective.org. We'll do our best to
accommodate your group for various nights if you need something more
specific than the ticket options here.
WHAT ARE MY TRANSPORTATION/PARKING OPTIONS FOR GETTING TO AND FROM THE
EVENT?
It's a 15 minute uber/lyft ride from the SCOTTSDALE/Phoenix airport to
the Franciscan Renewal Center [https://thecasa.org/]. Hiking trails,
shopping and other options for things to do off-site are all 10-20
minutes away by uber/lyft as well. Some locals may be available to
help with transportation if needed. Free parking is available for
guests at the Casa (the lodging section of the Franciscan Renewal
Center).
WHAT ARE MY LODGING OPTIONS?
The Casa offers double rooms with two full beds for $99 per person per
night or single rooms ($198 total) with one bed for $140 per person
per night. Handicap accessible rooms may be available if needed. All
rooms feature private, ensuite baths, wifi on campus and access to the
outdoor pool. Check in is 4pm and check out is 10am. W/ Collective is
suggesting you stay for 2 or 3 nights (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). If
you purchase a ticket for 2 nights only, you'll need to specify which
nights you would like to stay. A question will prompt you to give us
this information as you register.

WHAT MEALS ARE INCLUDED WITH MY BOOKING?
The Center prepares most of our meals. All meals are Chef's choice and
served buffet style in the Casa dining room. Dietary needs can be
arranged prior to arrival by emailing
jennifer.fisher@withcollective.org. Meals are served at 8am-9am
(breakfast), 12pm-1pm (lunch), 6pm-7pm (dinner). Alcohol is not
allowed on the Center campus, but W/ will arrange for opportunities
for evening drinks off-site. We also hope to host a poolside picnic on
the evening when the most participants are available.
IF I'M LOCAL IN THE SCOTTSDALE AREA CAN I JOIN IN WITHOUT SPENDING THE
NIGHT?
Yes! We would love to have you! You'll be charged for the meals you'll
be with us ($10-16 per meal) and a $99 local attendee registration fee
(see below). Email jennifer.fisher@withcollective.org for an access
code to register as a local.
IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?
Yes, W/ COLLECTIVE ASKS FOR A REGISTRATION FEE TO COVER THE COST OF
ORGANIZING THE EVENT. If you are a W/ COLLECTIVE PARTNER, this fee may
be included in your partnership. For as little as $299 you can become
a W/ partner and receive two nights in a double room, including your
meals and registration fee. To learn more about our partnerships,

hayro.luque@withcollective.org.
WILL THERE BE ANY PROGRAMMING DURING THE RETREAT?
This retreat is focused on rest and prayer, so while we will offer
some programming, it will be light. We want you to feel comfortablt to
use this retreat as you need it most. Come with your full staff or a
colleague or come on your own. Use it as a meetup with other pastors
and leaders you've been wanting to see. You can socialize as little or
as much as you like. W/ will reserve some meeting spaces, but small
meeting rooms are also available to rent for a small fee if you would
like to meet with your own team. Use this time for your organization's
needs, but enjoy the benefit of relaxing in community with progressive
colleagues across the country in your down time.
W/ will organize opportunities for worship, meditation, yoga and
prayer that you can choose to participate in if you'd like. We plan to
have an opening gathering on Tuesday morning and a closing one on
Thursday morning (subject to change based on when the most people are
available). Later this fall, we'll announce speakers and leaders who
will take us through these practices.
The FRANCISCAN RENEWAL CENTER offers a variety of programs and
opportunities for worship and growth during our stay. Professional
spiritual directors
[https://thecasa.org/programs-and-activities/spiritual-direction/] are
available to you and your group at your own cost during your stay. You
can also join in a daily mass [https://thecasa.org/worship-2/mass/]
in the Franciscan tradition or a variety of workshops and services we
think you'll enjoy, from meditation practices to walks under the
stars. Learn about the Center's programming for March as it becomes
available here.
