Turning And Decorating A Closed Bowl

Students will turn a closed bowl and decorate it with a spiraling tool to give it a fine texture. Our "Introduction to Bowl Turning Class" is recommended as a prerequisite. Each student will leave the class with a decorated bowl of their own. Finishing options will be discussed at the end of the class. All material will be provided. Students are required to provide their own safety glasses and hearing protection. A personal face shield is highly recommended to be worn while turning any project on the lathe. To participate in any class, children less than 18 years of age must have a legal guardian or parent, who has signed the waiver agreement and the legal guardian or parent must supervise the child at all times during the entire event. Children less than 14 years of age cannot use any power tool (with the exception of random orbital sanders). Children 14 years of age and older may use power tools, but must do so under the direct supervision and guidance of the legal guardian or parent, who has signed the waiver agreement.
