TRAUMA INFORMED PRIMARY PREVENTION (TIPP) CERTIFICATION - FREE!CULTIVATING A CULTURE OF EQUITY CANCELED - WE WILL RESECHEDULE WHEN POSSIBLE. Burton Barr Central Library - PULLIUM AUDITORIUM - FREE PARKING, LUNCH, RAFFLE & FUN Who Should attend: Anyone working with youth ages 0-24 in schools or the community. CULTIVATING A CULTURE OF EQUITY OVERVIEW: #1 TRAUMA IN OUR DNA, BRAIN AND BODY: We will define and discuss current and historical trauma and its impact on our youth. We will examine Adverse Childhood Experiences including Domestic, Relationship, and Sexual Violence and the disparities among culturally specific communities and individuals with disabilities. We will highlight Epigenetics, SDOH, ESD Practices, Toxic Stress, Disabilities and Disparities. #2 IDENTIFYING AND RESPONDING TO TRAUMA: We will learn from experts including each other about: how to respond to past and present trauma including Bullying and Sexual Harassment in schools and the workplace, how to create empathetic and safe spaces, and where to go for a variety of resources. (Please bring resources to share.) #GotEmpathy #3 TRAUMA INFORMED PRIMARY PREVENTION – TIPP: We will define TIPP and how it may be applied to any community, especially those working with youth. We will discuss why and how to address and prevent the root causes of harm by cultivating the opposite with evidence informed strategies across the social ecology. #4 NORMALIZING EQUITY IN SCHOOLS & WORKPLACES: We will discuss normalizing equity to address and prevent sexual violence and harassment in schools and the workplace. We will focus on the practical application of TIPP in schools and workplaces. #5 TAKING IT TO THE STREETS: Putting it together.You will be provided with a tool and time to apply TIPP strategies to your world. Sharon is Karin. #6 CALL ME TIPP CERTIFIED: You will identify as Trauma Informed and commit to incorporating Primary Prevention strategies into your world. You will understand the impact of trauma and how to address and prevent the root causes with the communities you are serving. We will provide opportunities to stay connected. You are the expert.
