Join Frederic Larson is exploring the ALBANY BULB DURING THE GOLDEN
HOUR JUST BEFORE SUNSET. The bulb is most distinctive for the
contributions of its ARTISTS, both graffiti and sculptural, to the
park. Among the more notable pieces are a series of large driftwood
sculptures made by Scott Hewitt, Scott Meadows and David Ryan; a
concrete TV; dragon sculpture; and something known as “The
Castle”, which is a eroding concrete shelter covered in
graffiti. Please wear masks and continue to practice physical
distancing and avoid congregating close together during this MeetUp.
Photograph during the “Golden Hours" with others that share the same
interest. Discover some of the tricks of the trade in photographing
during the magic moments of twilight. See how to to choose the right
angle as the moon rises and compare exposures and knowledge with other
photographers. Explore principles of light during the perfect time of
evening to make stunning images.
The range of focal length recommended is wide angle to medium
telephoto lenses. A tripod is suggested as we might be doing some long
exposures in low light situations. The Meet-Up will incorporate
exposure times, f/stop settings and certain photographic techniques
that are beneficial in nighttime photography. Main areas of emphasis
will be sculptures during the peak moment of sunset.
Note: This MeetUp is not a photography "teaching" workshop but a group
setting that shares photography ideas. If you d like more of a
