Gustavo Dudamel returns to Cal Performances for master classes with UC
Berkeley student conductors and the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra,
and a ‘Berkeley Talks’ event with Cal Performances’ Executive
and Artistic Director Matías Tarnopolsky. All events are free and
open to the public. Dudamel’s appearances at Cal Performances comes
on the heels of his Super Bowl 50 Halftime performance with the Youth
Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA). These events complete Gustavo Dudamel
and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra’s 2015-16 Berkeley
RADICAL residency begun in September 2015. Cal Performances’
Berkeley RADICAL (Research and Development Initiative in Creativity,
Arts and Learning) is a framework to cultivate public artistic
literacy and create cultural access for diverse current and future
audiences
