Sasha Waltz presents her most intimate and lyrical work, set to
Schubert's shimmering Impromptus and lieder, in a stunning exploration
of the vulnerability and beauty of the human body. Waltz, who has
collaborated with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Mariinsky Ballet,
the Staatsoper, and the Opéra de Paris, employs a rotating company of
"guests"—visual artists, choreographers, filmmakers, musicians,
dancers—in her inventive works, and here features seven dancers,
with music performed live by pianist Cristina Marton and mezzo-soprano
Ruth Sandhoff.
