_BECOMING A DIVERSITY RESPONSIVE SCHOOL (LA)_We now understand the
value of diversity in our classrooms, but aligning our curricula with
those same principles can be daunting. Join us for this day-long
workshop where we will apply theories of anti-bias education to the
work we do everyday in our classrooms. For the first part of the day,
we will review several different models for shifting our curricula to
align with best practices and to be more responsive to the children in
our classrooms. Then, we will apply the research and frameworks of
understanding to a variety of case studies that reflect the challenges
and situations we face as independent school educators. This session
is open to all teachers in all subject matters as we will be looking
at both developmental as well as pedagogical strategies for improving
our teaching.
* This workshop is ideal for classroom teachers, as well as
diversity coordinators/directors, service-learning coordinators,
deans, etc.
* We encourage you to attend with colleagues from your school
