90 minutes of deep focus on the breathing, bandhas and dristhi
This offering, Starting Small, begins with your relationship to the ground and moves out into your body through focus on both ends of your spine. Using breathing techniques to calm the nervous system, we will simulate the power of sustained lengthened breathing and experience the inner calm it provides, as a backdrop and foundation to focused concentration.
By working from the inside, from a lying down position, we will begin to cultivate the dristhi, or moving focal point. Visualization is a key part of the practice. Seeing truly is believing! Deep looking, as well as listening, become deep knowing in the body. Paying close attention to the sensations of the body, we tune to the efficient solutions effortlessly uncovered by focused repetition. Open to trying, not only in the active sense, but trying as learning to allow.
Come at a new time! Wind down and build sustained support to bolster you during the busy holiday season. Find how deeply you can disengage your muscles, how slowly and efficiently you can use them. Make your way through the dark days of winter with a practice that can both relax and energize you.
