Interested in kicking off National Bike to Work Week
[http://bikeleague.org/bikemonth] with a refreshing Monday morning
bike ride? Join Ventura County firefighters, dignitaries, and avid
cyclists on a family-friendly, 10-mile recreational ride on Monday,
May 15, 2017, and help celebrate the installation of Ventura
County’s first public bicycle repair stand.
The free Bike “n” Ride event kicks off at Giant Bicycle
[https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/] in NEWBURY PARK with riders
departing at 9a.m. Led by cycling enthusiast Jack Nosco (VCFD Fire
Captain), participants will travel from Giant Bicycle
[https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/] to Ventura County Fire Station
33 in Thousand Oaks.
Friends and family who do not go on the ride are invited to Station 33
to cheer for riders as they cross the finish line! Cyclists will begin
arriving at 9:30 a.m.
At 10 a.m., Ventura County Fire will unveil the County’s first bike
repair stand. From changing a flat to adjusting brakes and
derailleurs, the bike repair station features an air pump, tools and
mounts to securely hang a bike so riders can make adjustments. This
stand is one of 16 repair stands to be installed near Ventura County
Fire Stations.

9:00 a.m. – Riders depart Giant Bicycle, located at 3587 Old Conejo
Road, Newbury Park.
10:00 a.m. – Bike Repair Stand unveiling event at the VCFD Lake
Sherwood Fire Station, located at 33 Lake Sherwood Drive.
