worked from her LA base, founding LOS ANGELES CHOREOGRAPHERS \&
DANCERS, non-profit base of Louise Reichlin \& Dancers in 1979,
creating 125 works for the company including "The Tennis Dances" and
"The Patchwork Girl of Oz." Her work embodies joy, energy, and a deep
connection between her inner and outer expression. Shes praised for
using metaphor for larger statements. Early reviews proclaimed her
"triumphant, provocative, innovative and entertaining, transformative
and moving." The Company: Los Angeles Choreographers \& Dancers, the
non-profit name of Louise Reichlin \& Dancers, was founded by Reichlin
(modern) and Alfred Desio/Zapped Taps™ with Desio very active till
his passing in 2007. Ahead of the curve since its inception in 1979,
the companys early work focused on time-travel, Tennis- an American
sport made international and homelessness. The LA Zoo commissioned the
XXIIIrd Animal/Olympics Series about endangered Animal Champions
species. "Alone" explores connectivity with a tribal woman who cant
hear or see without her phone, while "The E-mail Dances highlights the
internet/digital age. Live interactive technology enlivens the family
work "The Patchwork Girl of Oz" (2001-2002, rev 2016). The company
also recently updated "Urban and Tribal Dances" (1990/2020) with
"Remembrance" and the politics of "War". "A Jewish Childs Story"
explores immigration and the Holocaust while "The Baggage Project",
including "Tap Dance Widows Club" and "Remembrance" (2011-2012/ 2020),
examines Death and the presence of those that have passed on that no
one talks about. A more recent piece '"Reboot! Reboot" has sadness and
violence but also the resilience that is in our world. In addition to
general dance/theater/multimedia works the company tours extensively
with educational programs for students of all ages with our
interactive family/children shows. This performance is made possible
in part by the California Arts Council, the Los Angeles County Board
of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture. OGP Grants
Program and LA County Creative Recovery Fund, the WORD Grant 2016
