PARENTING, like all other relationships, provides the opportunity to
look at ourselves and grow. yet like any other relationship, raising
children can create daily anxieties as parents learn to navigate their
child's social, academic and home life. In this MINDFUL PARENTING
WORKSHOP, parents and loved ones will work on strengthening their
relationship with their child through healthy self-modeling, boundary
setting, and compassion, allowing children and the entire family to
thrive. Bios:
Rebekah Tayebi is an associate clinical social worker, specializing in
work with teens, young adults, and families. She attended Columbia
University’s School of Social Work, with a focus on clinical work
with children and families. After that, she worked in residential
treatment in Utah, where she was previously a licensed clinical
social worker. During that time, Rebekah worked with complicated
issues, spanning from personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and
adoption, to trauma, eating disorders, and recovery from addiction.
Rebekah takes a family systems approach and recognizes the need for
parents to be engaged in their own change process. Rebekah also
founded Satya Family Coaching, a transitional coaching service,
supporting teens and young adults in the return home from treatment.
She’s written curriculum for various teen and young adult programs,
published PARENTING ARTICLES, and co-authored The Wanderlust Warrior
Project, a self-help book for young women. She’s a 500-hour RTY
certified yoga teacher who teaches MINDFULNESS AND LEADS YOGA FOR
TRAUMA RECOVERY WORKSHOPS.
Marcela Rondani is a trilingual Doctor in Psychology, and a Licensed
Marriage and Family Therapist. Marcela founded and owns Orenda
Clinical Services a Transitional and Coaching company for teens and
parents. Marcela also is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and
the President-Elect for the LA chapter of the International Eating
Disorder Association. She specializes in working with eating
disorders, mental health, trauma, and family dynamic issues. With
more than fifteen years of experience in the mental health field,
Marcela has been working with adolescents and families in treatment
centers setting as a Clinical director, and Clinical supervisor; she
has been part of the board of IAEDP (International Association for
Eating Disorder Professionals) since 2014. Marcela has extensive
training in psychodynamic, DBT, TRM and she was trained by Pia Mellody
in the Post Induction Therapy Model. Also, Marcela has worked at the
Brazilian Embassy assessing and helping the Brazilian community in Los
Angeles. Marcela has a passion for educating parents and families in
teen mental health and eating disorders and she has led in numerous
talks and workshops in a diversity of schools, universities,
magazines, and TV shows.
