Join us at Mrs. Dalloway's Bookstore on Tuesday, May 16th at 7:00 PM when noted Oakland Tribune sportswriter DAVE NEWHOUSE and sports business leader ANDY DOLICH come to read from, discuss, and sign their new book Goodbye, Oakland: Winning, Wanderlust, and a Sports Town's Fight for Survival.

Get ready for a fascinating tour of Oakland sports history and a look toward the future of professional sports in the East Bay. Through the insight of Dave and Andy, readers will come to appreciate the many quirks and challenges that define "The Town."

DAVE NEWHOUSE has observed the Bay Area sports scene since the 1940s, growing up in Menlo Park. He was an award-winning sportswriter and columnist at the Oakland Tribune, a forerunner among radio sports talk show hosts in San Francisco, and is the author of 19 books, with a 20th book near completion. He lives in Oakland with his wife Patsy.

ANDY DOLICH has spent more than five decades in the professional sports industry, including executive positions in the National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), National Hockey League (NHL), and in Major League Baseball (MLB). Andy was COO of the San Francisco 49ers from 2007-2010. He served as President of Business Operations for the Memphis Grizzlies-2000-2007, where he led the day-to-day functioning of the team’s business, marketing programs, along with the construction and operation of the home arena, FedExForum. In his 14 years as VP of Business Operations and EVP of the Oakland Athletics the team set numerous attendance records and appeared in 3 World Series with the 1989 victory over the San Francisco Giants in the Earthquake World Series.
