Grab your sunscreen and get ready for a week of beach fun! Spend each
day exploring the amazing sandy shore environment from the beach to
the breakers and beyond. We’ll surf and splash in the waves, dig for
critters in the swash zone, and investigate the unique adaptations of
the shorebird and marine mammal species that thrive on the edge of the
sea. We’ll hop on a boat and search for whales in the Monterey Bay,
observe marine mammal lifestyles first-hand from a kayak tour around
the Monterey harbor, and participate in conservation activities that
show us how humans can work to protect this wonderful environment.
Campers must be able to swim. Activities: surfing basics (2 days -
gear provided), whale watching, kayaking, boogie boarding, marine
mammal artifacts, sand crab studies, shore bird observations, marine
