Canción del Inmigrante / Song of the Immigrant: A Multimedia “opera.”
@ Roybal Learning Center MPR, 1200 Colton Street, Los Angeles, 90026
Presented by The Arroyo Arts Collective, Cunao, and Roybal BFA's "Seven Generations Theatre.”
"Canción del Inmigrante" started as a workshop project between Cuñao and Peterson at Automata theater in L.A.'s Chinatown district.
In its original incarnation, Peterson created shadow puppets in the Japanese bunraku style to accompany songs performed by Cuñao. For this project, four student workshops will lead-up to the shows, with residents creating their own puppets and poems.
