COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to help individuals
understand and identify Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADS).
This course will focus on symptoms and risk factors. Additionaly,
screening and assessment tools will be reviewed. Prevention,
protective factors and interventions will be discussed. This workshop
will also cover the building blocks of maternal well-being to provide
support to women and families experiencing PMADS, infertility, and
pregnancy loss. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Define 2-3 Perinatal Mood Disorders
2. Identify at least 2 unexpected Perinatal Mood Disorder symptoms
3. Identify 1-2 screening tools for Perinatal Mood Disorders
4. Identify 1-2 assessments tools for Perinatal Mood Disorders
5. List 2-3 solutions/interventions to address Perinatal Mood
Disorders
6. Describe "Stages of Recovery"
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This workshop is essential for anyone working with
women, mothers, mothers-to-be, and families including educators,
health professionals, mental health clinicians, home visitors and case
managers.
PRESENTERS: MELISSA TIHIN, LMFT, has a Ph.D and is a Licensed
Marriage and Family Therapist who is committed to providing the
highest standards of practice set forth by the profession of Marriage
and Family Therapy. Melissa is also currently enrolled in the 2019
Cohort of PSI (Postpartum Support International) and will be seeking
Certification in Perinatal Mental Health later this year. Melissa is
co-owner of Central Valley Family Therapy. In addition to her clinical
work, she also supervises Associates at the practice, and is
passionate about educating and training clinicians, as well as,
increasing the availability of mental health services to all
individuals and families, regardless of socio-economic status.
JENNELL CASILLAS, LMFT, has a M.A. and is a Licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist and co-owner of Central Valley Family Therapy.
Jennell completed an extensive Fellowship from University of
California Davis Extension from the Napa Infant-Parent MENTAL HEALTH
FELLOWSHIP IN 2016. Jennel has also completed the certification
process from MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH NOW, “Bringing Light to
Motherhood” and is currently enrolled in the 2019 Cohort of PSI
(Postpartum Support International) and will be seeking Certification
in PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH LATER THIS YEAR. Jennell is passionate
about working in the area of Women’s Reproductive MENTAL HEALTH.
CE CREDITS: Attendance to this training meets the qualifications for
6 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSW’s,
LPCC’s and/or LEP’s as required by the California Board of
Behavioral Sciences. Prov. # 131780. Certificate of Completion will be
handing out at time of sign out. You must be present for the entire
training and sign in and out on the sign in sheet, in order to receive
your CE certificate.
IMH HOURS: Workshop is aligned with the California Training Guidelines
and Personnel Competencies and Professional Endorsement Criteria for
Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health (2016). Domain

Solace Center is co-hosting with this training with the California
Psychological Institute who is approved by the California Association
of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for
LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and/or LEP’s. California Psychological
Institute maintains responsibility for this program/course content.
