As of January 2020 we will be meeting at the SANTA FE EXPRESS CAFE,
136 E Santa Fe Ave, FULLERTON, CA 92832,[masked], right on the station
platform of the FULLERTON Amtrak / Metrolink Station. More information
and the menu can be found at: http://www.santafecafefullerton.com/
[http://www.santafecafefullerton.com/] . The menu is more extensive
and less expensive than most of our prior meeting locations. The Meetup
will be held on the 4th TUESDAY of every month (which is not always
the last Tuesday of the month as some months have 5 Tuesdays).
Please try to arrive between 5pm and 5:30pm. The first people usually
arrive by 5pm but some need a little more time to get to the Meetup
from work.
We used to end the Meetup at about 6:30 PM as many attendees liked to
walk over to the Fullerton Depot to watch the arrival and departure of
the eastbound Amtrak Southwest Chief. Since at this new location we
will be right at the station platform, we no longer have to end the
Meetup to watch this train. We can continue the Meetup while enjoying
watching the activities of the arrival and departure of this train as
well as other Amtrak, Metrolink, and freight trains during our Meetup.
If you live in or are visiting Southern California and love to travel
by rail, then you are very welcome to come to this Meetup!
We are not a passenger rail advocacy GROUP NOR A NUTS AND BOLTS
RAILFAN GROUP. We are just a bunch of people that like to get together
and discuss our rail TRAVEL EXPERIENCES IN A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE OVER
SOME FOOD AND DRINKS! If you like to TRAVEL BY RAIL, or are interested
in getting started in rail TRAVEL, then you should come to our
meeting! If you have questions about TRAVEL ON AMTRAK, VIA Rail
Canada, or on most other excursion and tourist railways, bring your
questions to the meeting. Someone will probably have answers to your
questions! Downtown FULLERTON is real easy to get to by rail, bus or
car. There is plenty of free parking on Monday evening near the
station. Come to the meeting by rail! FULLERTON has extensive rail and
bus service. You can get to Downtown FULLERTON from many parts of
Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura
Counties by either Amtrak or Metrolink trains, or in combination with
other public transit rail and bus systems. Numerous OCTA bus routes
also serve Downtown FULLERTON. For exact schedules and routes, visit
