Forest Lawn—GLENDALE will observe Dia de los MUERTOS
AND honor community members who have passed in a free event on
Sunday, October 28, 2018. Marigolds and
brightly colored ofrendas or altars will transform the memorial
park into a radiant and majestic space for remembrance. Aztec dance
performances, mariachi music, art, food and refreshments, and prayer
will set a lively backdrop for the community to light candles,
position photographs and mementos, and retell stories that keep the
memories of generations of loved ones alive. The event will feature
majestic, colorful, and fragrant community altars, which people can
adorn with pictures, jewelry, pottery, and other mementos to weave
the memories of loved ones into the fabric of the community.
