Eat Your Art Out, LA’s biggest underground art showcase and
silent charity auction, returns to Titmouse Animation Studios for
its tenth annual benefit PARTY FOR THE Angel City Derby Girls, a
501(c)3 Non Profit Organziation. For Eat Your Art Out X | Neat
Street: A Fuzzy Fresh Arty Party, curators Jane Dope, Sleazy Bake Oven
and Hussy Whipped are transforming the sprawling space of Titmouse
Animation Studios into a surreal mashup of OG hip-hop, cardboard sets,
and puppet-filled kids TV shows from the 70s and 80s. Amidst the
fuzz, breakdancing and boombox beats, event-goers will get to enjoy a
beer & wine bar, games, puppet interviews, over 80 new works by
world-class artists and more surprises!
Eat Your Art Out X will be for one night only on Saturday, June 3,
2017 from 7pm – 11pm and held at the expansive Titmouse Animation
Studios at 1121 Seward St., Hollywood, CA 90038.
Pre-sale GA tickets are $8 and $10 at the door, night of the show.
When Jane Dope started Eat Your Art Out ten years ago, she didn’t
know that it would be such a life-changing success. Last year, she
teamed up with fellow Eat Your Art Out producers Sleazy BakeOven and
Hussy Whipped to form Eat More Art Out Productions to produce
additional shows outside these annual Angel City Derby fundraisers.
Their most successful break-off show, NOMO FOMO: An Art Show About
Broads In the City, was a sold-out, line-around-the-block success that
even got featured in the Broad City Season 3 DVD special features.
They plan for this surreal “Beat Street” throwback party to be
their biggest production to date.
“By now it’s in my blood to be producing these art-themed
parties,” says co-curator Jane Dope. “We really enjoy the fact
that we are able to bring higher-end art to the masses with this. We
know that this art is worth a ton more than it’s being auctioned
for. But everyone involved has such a good time at each event that
they just keep asking for more. And that’s what keeps us going.”
