LUCID is an original physical theatre work inspired by August Strindberg’s A Dream Play and the adaptation written by Caryl Churchill, with the poems of Anne Sexton.
'A group of individuals join a sleep study with the hopes of curing their insomnia, but the study takes a turn when an unexpected woman (Agnes) shows up, and they find themselves trapped in a bizarre collective dream state - Friend or foe Anges forces them to confront dark secrets and hidden truths.’
Striking, witty, surrealistic, full of unexpected juxtapositions - LUCID incorporates movement, imagery, soundscape, live and recorded music, as it asks us to look more closely at the waking lies we tell ourselves, the quiet prejudices we carry, and the role fear has in inflating human ego.
