Learn how to turn plants into strong ropes! In this class we will learn how to make ropes out of plant fibers, focusing on yucca. This is a very hands-on class where participants will be pounding, separating, washing, twisting, splicing, knotting and cleaning to turn plant materials into rope. These are strong, local, sustainable cordage types that can be made into a variety of useful items including rope, nets, fishing line, macrame water bottle, and plant holders, bracelets, rope to hang and dry plants, and much more. Participants will leave with the rope they made in class and the skills to harvest and make more.  What's included: * Harvesting materials sustainably and responsibly * Choosing the right plant for the rope * Processing plants into fibers * Turning fibers into a strong rope * Splicing and cleaning up ends This CLASS IS SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES.
