In this talk, we will look at the JVM instruction set, its architecture, the design considerations that went into it, its pitfalls and how it has evolved over the years. Bio: Vivek Haldar has been programming for nearly two decades at all levels of the stack (the Linux kernel, large-scale backends for search and indexing, cluster management systems, virtual machines, Android apps, CRMs). He has a PhD in Computer Science from UC Irvine, and is currently a Staff Software Engineer at Google.
