Do you and your kids reach for your phones the minute you wake
up—and keep them by your sides 24/7? Do you pick up your phone for
one purpose only to look up 45 minutes later wondering what happened
to the time? Do you feel like you can't focus the way you used to? Is
your memory shot? Do you feel disconnected from friends and family? Do
you know anyone who spends too much time on their phone? If your
answer is “yes” to any of these questions, come hear from
Catherine Price, author of How to Break Up with Your Phone: The
30-Day Plan to Take Back Your Life. Ms. Price, a graduate of Yale
University and the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, is an
award-winning science journalist, speaker, and author, who has
developed practical strategies to help people of all ages create
healthier relationships with their devices and improve their
creativity, productivity and mental health. Ms. Price is also the
creator and founder of Screen/Life Balance, which is dedicated to
helping people learn how to scroll less and live more. (Don't worry:
no phones will be harmed or discarded as a result of this
presentation.) Ms. Price will speak with the Prep students in a
separate session during the school day. Following Ms. Price’s
presentation to the parents and a Q&A session, we will adjourn to the
Atrium for a cocktail reception. Ms. Price’s book, How to Break Up
with Your Phone: The 30-Day Plan to Take Back Your Life, will be
available for sale during the reception.
