Breakthrough Workshop Theatre presents RABBIT HOLEWritten by David
Lindsay-AbaireDirected by Cecilia J. Pang Becca and Howie Corbett have
everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns
their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously
apart. RABBIT HOLE charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the
darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back into the
light of day. Described by Variety as "a drama that's not just a
departure but a revelation—an intensely emotional examination of
grief, laced with wit, insightfulness, compassion and searing
honesty," it was also hailed by USA Today for it's ability to explore
"a tragedy and its consequences with utter candor, and without
sentimentality. The dialogue is most impressive for capturing the
awkwardness and pain of thinking people faced with an unthinkable
situation—and eventually, their capacity for survival, and even
hope." Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, it fits
perfectly into BWT's Season 8 theme of “Grief / Empathy / Hope."
This "Special Event Breakthrough Workshop" will be directed by
Cecilia J. Pang in her BWT debut, and will feature a cast of BWT
All-Stars led by Margot Nelson and Nathan Bauer-Spector (who
previously played opposite each other as both Catherine and Hal in
BWT's "Proof" in 2015 and Harper and Joe in BWT's "Angels in America"
in 2017), as well as Breakthrough Icon Heidi Maretz and the 2018
Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Stephanie Hester. This workshop
is being presented free of charge for one performance only at the
beautiful La Jolla Riford Library.
