Night Dive at La Jolla Shores!
For safety reasons, you must be solid in your skills, a competent night diver, and have dove at this location before during the day. No one will act as your guide.
Stay home if you have tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting for COVID-19 test results, have COVID-19 symptoms, or had close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19.
Wear a mask at the event if not fully vaccinated or if you can t maintain 6 feet distance from others.
Please make sure to sign our liability releases online once per calendar year. It s quick and easy, just follow this link: (
Come out for an evening underwater at La Jolla Shores and join us for a one tank dive.
Meet on Vallecitos Street. Parking is limited, you may want to drop off your gear and park elsewhere. Please don t block the sidewalk with gear. Just ask for Power Scuba if you aren t sure.
Bring all of your own dive gear (including weights, tanks, and at least two lights). Check our Shops and Instructors list in the Discussions/Message Board area if you need to rent something. A tarp is good for gearing up/down. A lantern helps after the dive.
Your hosts are volunteers and there at the event to dive themselves. If you are here on vacation and need a guide or training, there are professional dive operations that provide these services. Do not expect to buddy with the host, but you can find a buddy at the event.
* Ensure you are properly weighted!
* You must perform a good Pre-Dive Buddy Check prior to water entry.
* You are responsible for yourself on every dive. Not the host, lifeguards, your more-competent buddy, nor anyone else. Only YOU.
SEE YOU THERE!!!
ADMIN STUFF YOU MUST READ:
The Virtual Donation Jar is always out (for the Meetup site costs and general fund). It s strictly voluntary, but is very much appreciated and needed: Click here for the DONATION JAR: (
You must also read the Disclaimer and Clarification/Terms of Service/Terms and Conditions: (
Anyone with a medical condition possibly counter-indicative to diving must have a doctor’s signature on a diving waiver form submitted to Bill Powers (or an organizer) before attending any Power Scuba event. YOU MAY NOT ATTEND AN EVENT WITH AN UNDISCLOSED MEDICAL CONDITION. Doing so is grounds for expulsion from the group. Here is our medical statement and physician waiver form:
Attending any scuba event Power Scuba constitutes the attendee s affirmation they are medically fit to dive, certified to dive by a nationally-recognized agency, have the necessary skill & training level for the dive being offered, have read the Terms and Conditions, and have submitted a signed Liability Release to an organizer.
Important Note: It is not the organizer s role to lead your dive (or to wait for you after you come out of the water). He/she merely facilitates you getting to the pre-dive meeting location. The Organizer will not assign you a buddy nor will he/she be leading the dive as a "group dive". Visibility and liability do not allow for that. Nor will the Organizer tell you whether you are skilled enough to make any particular dive. That is for you (only) to decide. When you enter the water, you and your buddy are on your own. You must plan and execute your dive with your dive buddy only. Once members arrive at the meeting spot, the Organizer becomes simply another diver.
Power Scuba bears no responsibility or liability for a member s loss (gas, airfare, hotel fees, etc) in the event of a canceled event.
Your participation constitutes your affirmation you agree to the above rules and disclaimers.... and that your attending guest(s) (if applicable) has read and agrees to the same.
