The Women’s Health Services Office at the Department of Veterans
Affairs partnered with the Air Force to create this training that
provides servicewomen with a deeper understanding of the women’s
health services available to them within the VA health care system and
how to sign up. The local trainings are being hosted by the San Diego
Women Veterans Network.
The course will cover the following:
* The transformed culture of VA for both male and female patients *
Range of women’s health and mental health care services and
available benefits * Eligibility for and enrollment in VA health care
* Expectations for women to proactively seek health care services
post-separation * Logistical details such as facility structure,
locations, and points of contact * Available transition support
services The course will be interactive, with opportunities to
personalize training content, and will be led by a female Veteran.
There will be two sessions on Friday, 22 March
Option 1: 0800 – 1200
Option 2: 1300 - 1700.

Dress code is civilian casual. This course is open to all military
women, preferably Active Duty Servicewomen (all branches)
transitioning in the next year or women Veterans who have transitioned
in the past 10 years.
