The next meeting will be held on Saturday April 11th at the Round
Table Pizza on 504 Center Avenue in Martinez. The meeting will start
at 5:00 P.M. and last until around 9:00 P.M. Attending the meeting is
free and I will also provide one or two free pizzas, depending on how
many people are there and how fast the pizza is consumed. Some popular
multiplayer games I’ll have at the Saturday April 11th meeting
include Smash Bros 4 Ultimate, Street fighter 4 & 5, Mortal Kombat 11,
Halo, Mario Kart, Tekken, Mario Party, Marvel Vs Capcom, King of
Fighters, Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter, Injustice,
Killer Instinct, Gang Beats, Sonic Racing, and Power Stone. You
don’t have to arrive exactly at five, it’s ok to be late, and you
don’t have to stay for the full course of the meeting if you don’t
want to. Just show up, play video games and have fun.Resident Evil 3
was originally released in 1999, and the new version uses the same
engine as Resident Evil 7 and the remake of Resident Evil 2. Resident
Evil 3 takes place about a month after the events of Resident Evil 1,
and concurrently with the events in Resident Evil 2. Jill Valentine
attempts to expose the Umbrella Cooperation for their wrong doing in
the first game but is ignored and suspended from the Stars police
force for doing so. Now that the zombie outbreak has spread from the
mountains to the streets of Raccoon City Jill is vindicated but in
imminent danger. Jill must escape the city while facing hordes of
mutated bio hazard Humans, monkeys and dogs. Making things even more
difficult Umbrella has unleashed a special super zombie Tyrant variant
know as Nemesis specially designed to hunt down and kill all current
and former members of the Stars police force. Nemesis will chase the
player as Jill throughout the whole game and the frequent tough boss
fights with him were a signature feature of the original game and are
expected to be carried over to the remake.
Also included in the remake of 3 is the online multiplayer mode
Project Resistance, which has cooperative gameplay that is sort of
similar to the old Resident Evil Outbreak games for PlayStation 2.
Four people play as heroes trying to escape the building that the
fifth player has loaded traps, zombies, and other monsters. The six
human characters have different skills that will either make the
combat or escaping the levels easier, while the four villain character
have access to different sets of traps and monsters, and the person
playing the villain can also assume control of the enemies they summon
in case they don’t trust the AI to take out the other players within
the time limit of the match.
The long gestating remake of Final Fantasy 7 comes out on April 10th
after being teased since the launch of the PlayStation 3. Since the
original game was released in 1997 a number of substantial
improvements have been made. The game now has fully 3D environments,
unlike the original’s prerendered backgrounds. The game now has real
time combat instead of the original turn based combat system. The
character models are the same during exploration and combat since
there are no more fade to black transitions to random enemy
encounters. Finally the game now has full voice acting. There is one
major downside to the remake however; it doesn’t remake the entirety
of Final Fantasy 7, only the fist city Midgard is covered, although it
is supposedly fleshed out more than in the original. The rest of Final
Fantasy 7’s original story will presumably be covered in Final
Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 or 3 at some point.
The basic story of the classic role playing game should remain the
same. The city of Midgard is run by the Shinra Corporation and the
city’s largest export is power harvested from the planets core. Most
of the game’s main characters Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Aeris are
part of group called Avalanche whose goal is to stop the siphoning of
the planets power due to the fear it could cause the destruction of
the world.
I will have Resident Evil 3 for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4,
but Final Fantasy 7 is exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
Anyway I will be bringing at least 17 monitors to the next meeting,
two Nintendo Switchs, two PlayStation 4s and one of each of the
fallowing game systems: Xbox One, Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3,
PlayStation 2, PlayStation 1 Classic, original Xbox, Nintendo 64,
Turbografx 16, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, Super Nintendo Classic,
NES Classic, Genesis Flashback, Genesis Mini, Atari Jaguar, Panasonic
3DO, Neo Geo Mini, PlayStation Vita TV, and an OUYA. Keep in mind that
I might not hook up all the systems or monitors that I bring with me,
but if there is something you want to try out that isn’t setup ask
me and I’ll hook it up as soon as possible. Also it’s ok to bring
your own controllers, games, or systems if you want, but I think that
I provide enough equipment that most people will be satisfied.
