EVENT DESCRIPTION: Tools like WiFi, smartphones, cloud computing, and
other technologies that were non-existent twenty years ago are now
indispensable to the modern practice of law. As attorneys, are we
using these tools in a way that preserves our duty to our clients and
to the public? Even the smartest and most diligent of attorneys can
land herself in ethical hot water by being careless in her use of
technology. In this CLE, we will explore what it means for an attorney
to practice good IT hygiene and the potential consequences of failing
to do so.
SPEAKER BIO: Sabir Ibrahim is founder and CEO of Exactify.IT

consulting firm that caters exclusively to ATTORNEYS AND LAW FIRMS. He

launching Exactify.IT, Sabir practiced in technology-related fields of
law such as patent prosecution, patent litigation, technology
licensing, and open source compliance. Over the course of his legal
career, Sabir has served in formal and informal technology advisory
roles in many of the organizations in which he practiced. He also
worked as an IT consultant and software engineer prior to attending
law school. Sabir received his JD from the University of Michigan Law
School, where he was an article editor of the _Michigan
Telecommunications and Technology Law Review_. He received his BSE in
computer science from the University of Michigan College of
Engineering.
