Grand Park’s Fourth of July Block Party has quickly become a go-to
destination for Angelenos looking to partake in a patriotic birthday
bash on the cheap. But this year’s event is going to look pretty
different. For starters, it won’t actually be in person. Instead,
the Downtown park will host a three-hour livestream that features
cooking demos, local comedy ensembles, musical performances and online
workshops. Of course, the big question is: Will there be fireworks? We
simply don’t know yet, and even if some pyro is incorporated into
the stream, in-person fireworks seem very unlikely right now.
Regardless, Grand Park has said that it will be closed to public
gatherings and picnics on July 4, 2020 in order to ensure
Angelenos’ safety and well-being.
