This event will raise funds for the Performing Arts Program at WATTS LEARNING CENTER, supporting the creation of an in-school instrumental instruction program, the expansion of the vocal instruction program, and cultural enrichment for WLC students via in-school workshops and performances by world-class artists, and field trips to the LA Phil, LA Opera, and other great cultural institutions within the city of LOS ANGELES. This CONCERT UNVEILS THE HIGHLY-anticipated new album from trailblazing American pianist Lara Downes: SOME OF THESE DAYS [http://www.laradownes.com/sotd], a musical reflection on social justice, freedom and equality, expressed through music that is at the roots of our American story. With special guests Ifetayo Ali-Landing, cello, and Perry Hayes, vocalist - and featuring performances by WATTS LEARNING CENTER STUDENTS OF WRITING PRODUCED VIA DOWNES' My Promise Project [http://www.laradownes.com/my-promise-project] initiative. Lara Downes is recognized as one of the leading musical artists of her generation - a cultural visionary and an iconoclast who is redefining the canon for new audience and a new generation.
